Those who know me are aware that one of my strongest held values is authenticity. And that desire initially held me back from launching my own business. I hate sales tactics, but I realized that my passion is actually not at odds with that distaste. Authenticity is a non-negotiable in faith-based communication.
With that in mind, I established the guiding principles of what I want to do: I seek to craft communication excellence in a manner that honors the Lord, benefits organizations, and helps support my family. I started business in May of 2025, and I’m so grateful for the nudges others gave me; this leap of faith has been everything I dreamed!
See, I believe that for Christian organizations, communication is not merely marketing—it is stewardship. Communications excellence necessitates the faithful use of words, platforms, and attention to serve people well. It requires meeting people where they are without compromising on the kingdom-minded foundation that sets us apart.
A few key principles I stand upon are:
- Truth over viral content
- Clarity over clever jargon
- Faithfulness over scale
- People over platforms
My Ethical Boundaries
If you work with me, you can expect tasks that are done to the glory of God and with the experience of 10+ years in nonprofit communications. In principle, I always:
- Avoid manipulation and fear-based messaging
- Respect audience attention and data
- Use AI as a tool, not a substitute for discernment
Whether you’re looking for help in your communications or not, I encourage you to consider your personal and professional alignment. Does your communication reflect your values? If not, there’s no time like the present to acknowledge, adjust, and adopt new patterns.
Reflection: Does your communication reflect your theological values?
